There is no 'Demon Realm' or 'Spirit Realm' in Reverend Insanity. Instead, the world is defined by the Five Regions, each with its own unique environment and culture. The conflict is not between two parallel realms but between human factions, Gu Immortals, and the Heavenly Court—a secretive organization of righteous Gu Immortals. Demonic cultivators are those who reject the moral constraints of the Righteous Dao, often pursuing power through ruthless means, but they live and fight within the same Five Regions as their righteous counterparts. The idea of an 'eternal, low-level war' between realms is inaccurate; major conflicts include the battles for the 'Refinement Path Convention', the 'Heavenly Court's' schemes, and the struggles of individual Gu Immortals for supremacy. Ancient ruins and dangerous zones exist throughout the Five Regions, but they are remnants of past civilizations and battles, not a separate dimension. The world operates on fixed Dao marks and Gu worm rules, not a collective will altering physics.
